The State Treasury takes the Insurance Court’s decisions into account when processing all pending criminal injury compensation claims related to the Vastaamo data breach.
If the Insurance Court has amended the State Treasury’s decision or referred a case back to the State Treasury for reconsideration, we will process the case in accordance with the Insurance Court’s decision.
If you have received a decision from the State Treasury and did not appeal it within the prescribed time limit, the decision has become legally final. The Insurance Court’s decisions apply only to the individual cases concerned and do not change decisions that have already become final.
However, you may still submit an appeal after the appeal period has expired or request that your case be reconsidered on the basis of new evidence. If an appeal is submitted after the deadline, we will forward it to the Insurance Court for consideration. If you wish the State Treasury to reconsider your case under section 40 of the Criminal Injuries Act, please submit a request for reconsideration together with the new evidence to the State Treasury. We will then review your case again.
You can submit a compensation claim, provide additional information, and lodge an appeal through our online service.
