Henni Purtonen works as a Communications Specialist at the State Treasury Finland and serves as the producer and editor‑in‑chief of the State Treasury’s 150th anniversary article series. She is responsible for media relations, as well as communications of public procurement, the final central government accounts, and the development of crisis communication for the central government payment transactions. Henni is the right person to contact if you want to know what’s happening in these areas or need help finding a suitable interviewee.
Current societal trends, data-driven leadership, and managing uncertainty related to change are topics she enjoys. Henni has scripted and hosted various events in both Finnish and English. In public engagement and communication, she is fascinated by projects that challenge existing practices – one must be ready to rethink and seek solutions to societal challenges.
Previously, Henni worked on sustainability reporting within the central government and at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on bioeconomy, sustainable finance, and impact investing. She believes that the demand for societal impact will grow in the coming years and reshape how organizations, investors, and citizens plan, develop, procure, and operate. Henni aims to understand her areas of responsibility well enough – but not too deeply – to communicate about them clearly and accessibly.
