Everyday support for disabled war veterans and war veterans |
Disabled war veterans and veteransThe State Treasury - gives compensation to disabled war veterans and their spouses, widows and other family members in accordance with the Military Injuries Act;
- is responsible for the rehabilitation of those who have served in war-time assignments in Finnish wars;
- grants and pays front-line veterans’ allowance to foreign voluntary frontline soldiers who live in the former Soviet Union or in Finland;
- gives compensation to front-line veterans living abroad for their rehabilitation expenses.
In addition we give compensation to Finnish local authorities for expenses incurred by home services, accommodation services, support for informal care and outpatient rehabilitation sessions offered to disabled war veterans with a minimum of 20 percent disability and for institutional care provided for disabled war veterans with a minimum of 30 percent disability.
